Indications & Uses

Fever (Jvara): Main use for all acute fevers. Helps lower body temperature, removes “ama,” and eases discomfort.

Key Ingredients

  • Śuddha Pārada (purified mercury): Detoxifies deep-seated “ama” (metabolic waste).
  • Śuddha Gandhaka (purified sulfur): Antimicrobial; dries excess moisture.
  • Aileya (aloe vera juice): Cools and soothes the gut.
  • Pippalī (long pepper): Stimulates digestion and improves absorption.
  • Śivā (Haritaki fruit): Rejuvenates, aids digestion, antioxidant.
  • Ākārakarabha (pellitory root): Clears cold and dampness, improves circulation.
  • Indravāruṇī (bitter apple fruit): Strong purgative that removes waste and heat.

Dosage & Anupana

Take 1 g tablet (one māṣa) taken with Chinnā Rasa (fresh Gudūcī juice).

Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place inside an airtight container.

How the Ingredients Work Together

Purified mercury (Kajjali) and sulfur have antimicrobial effects but require careful handling. Aloe vera provides laxative and anti-inflammatory benefits. Long pepper contains piperine, which enhances absorption of other herbs and reduces inflammation. Haritaki is rich in antioxidants that protect liver and gut cells. Pellitory root eases cold and dampness while boosting circulation. Bitter apple acts as a strong purgative, clearing intestinal heat and waste.

These actions aim to:

  • Lower excess heat (pitta) that causes fever.
  • Clean the gastrointestinal tract of waste (ama).
  • Boost digestive fire (agni) so metabolism works well.
  • Offer antioxidant and antimicrobial support while the body fights infection.

Modern Scientific View

Research shows that many of the plant parts have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, or antimicrobial activity in lab studies. However, clinical data in humans are limited, and internal use of mercury-based compounds is considered risky without expert supervision.

Safety Note

Because the formula contains mineral metals, it should never be taken without a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner’s guidance. Pregnant or nursing women, children, and people with heart, kidney, or liver disease should avoid it unless specially advised.
