Overview & Modern Science
Achilles tendinitis causes pain in the back of the heel. It often happens with too much running or jumping. The pain is felt near the tendon that connects the calf muscle to the bone.
Ayurveda sees this as a Vata (the energy of movement) problem. Snayu (the rope-like tissue) and Kandara (the ligament-like structure) are involved. Overuse, wrong foot movement, high exercise, and heel strain add to the issue. These factors increase pain, swelling, and stiffness.
